Baldwin Swamp Fishway completed

The construction of a fishway designed to increase stocks of fish in the Burnett River has been completed.

The fishway has been constructed on Bundaberg Creek at Baldwin Swamp through a joint project between Bundaberg Regional Council, Ocean Watch and the Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation.

The completion of the $104,000 fishway is regarded as important for environmental ecology as well as the local seafood industry by providing fish with access to vital habitats for breeding and feeding.
