Bundaberg Multiplex Sports and Convention Centre is committed to working with you to deliver the perfect event.

An Event Management Guide has been produced to assist you in organising and running events. It contains general information about event management that is aimed at assisting you in best practice event management.

Careful planning is vital to successful events, starting with the five considerations below:

1. Assessing the idea and opportunity 

  • The type and size of the event
  • Available resources
  • Sponsorship / funding
  • Other similar types of event 
  • Ability to deliver the event i.e. capacity to physically host the event or financial capabilities 

2. Setting the objectives and theme 

A clear objective should be set from the beginning.

For example, you could aim to raise funds for a charity or particular project, start a new annual event etc.

The reason you are planning an event will impact and influence how you approach your event and generate support or funding. 

3. Determining the planning lead time 

Lead time is the time it will take for you to plan, organise and promote the event.  

Ideally, planning should start at least 12 months prior to any event.

It is highly recommended that you liaise early with Bundaberg Multiplex Sports and Convention Centre in your event planning to ensure you identify and obtain all relevant details and information.

4. Setting the event date 

Whether the event is going to be held indoors or outdoors will impact when you may hold your event (seasonal weather). 

You should also consider the region’s annual event calendar and tourism seasonal patterns. 

 

Meetings, seminars and conferences

The Bundaberg Multiplex and Convention Centre caters to all requirements of your meeting, seminar or conference.

The venue provides ideal spaces for break-out sessions and breaks.

Technical support includes, sound, lighting, and audio-visual with administrative space, general assistance and comprehensive catering support right on the premises.

Exhibitions and trade shows

The large exhibition hall within Bundaberg Multiplex is flexible enough to cater for exhibitions, trade shows and expos.

The foyer can be transformed into an extra space to hold breaks or informal vendor spaces. A ticket booth/administration office is also offered if required.

Technical support includes complete audio-visual, general assistance and comprehensive catering support right on the premises.

Ceremonies and gala dinners

Bundaberg Multiplex can adapt to suit the size of your event with available spaces to seat 60 - 700 people.

Enjoy a beverage from the licenced bar and benefit from the convenience of our full catering service.

We offer affordable packages to help create an intimate indoor ceremony followed by a fully styled and catered reception and grand celebration.

Sporting events

Bundaberg Multiplex is the ideal location to hold your next major sporting event.

Our Exhibition Hall converts to a stadium style arena including change rooms, timber sports floors and retractable seating for 768 spectators courtside. 

The centre is a fully enclosed, air conditioned facility including an entertainment/ presentation stage and electronic scoreboards.

The versatile sports stadium can be converted to a large function room with removable carpet flooring to host your awards presentation or Gala dinner after your sporting event.

An onsite café or full catering service package can also be arranged to satisfy your requirements.

In addition to the facilities within the Multiplex, the adjoining PCYC boasts three indoor courts catering for basketball, volleyball, netball, badminton and futsal.
