Loading zones
To be eligible to use a Loading Zone, "commercial vehicles" are defined as vehicles that are being used for the transportation, loading and unloading of goods. Vehicles registered as commercial vehicles by Queensland Transport are not deemed to be commercial vehicles for the purposes of using Loading Zones unless (a) The vehicle is over 4.5t GVM, or (b) A motor vehicle (excluding any car or motorbike) constructed, fitted or equipped for the carriage of goods. These vehicles need to be readily identified as commercial vehicles by way of sign writing or another approved method.
Loading Zones are regulated between the hours of 8.45am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.45am to 11.30am Saturdays. Public holidays are excluded. Loading zones located in the CBD section of Bourbong Street Bundaberg are for commercial vehicles only for a maximum of 20 minutes for the purpose of loading and unloading goods and does not include activities such as personal banking or errands. All other loading zones do allow passenger vehicles to stop for a maximum of two (2) minutes for the purpose of picking up and dropping off passengers. The driver of the vehicle must stay within three (3) metres of the vehicle at all times. It is important to read the sign to ensure that you are entitled to stop there.
