Alexandra Park Zoo staff can deliver educational talks and provide a learning experience that can be tailored to the age and needs of your group.

Zoo Kids activity booklet

Zoo Kids - new activity booklet launched

Zoo Kids 1,2, Zoo... I can count at the zoo!  is a new free booklet featuring 10 numeracy based activities for children aged 0 - 5 years.

Children can write, draw, and colour their way through the zoo practicing number recognition, writing, estimating, and counting.

This sustainably produced booklet supports children's learning to achieve outcomes identified in the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia 2022 v2.0.

The booklet was developed in collaboration with Louise Stallard, Director C&K Forestview Community Kindergarten.

You can share your experience of the activities via the QR Code on the booklet.

Keeper Talks

Cotton-top Tamarins and Spotted-tailed Quoll

Meet our critically endangered monkeys, watch them being fed, then stay on to chat with our keepers about the Spotted-tailed Quoll.

Where: Meet the keeper in front of the exhibits inside the barn

Who: Everyone is welcome to attend

Time: 10.30am - Cotton-top Tamarin talk, the quoll talk is run afterwards. Talks usually run for 10 - 15 minutes depending on numbers of attendees.

Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday outside of school holidays

Cost: Free

Bookings: Bookings are not required

 

 

School holiday activities

Our zoo keepers look forward to meeting you during the school holidays!

The zoo is open 7 days a week from 9.30am - 4.30pm during the Queensland school holidays, apart from Christmas Day.

Entry to the zoo is free. Please leave your pets at home to help keep our zoo animals safe.

Zookeeper Talks

Our free keeper talks are a great way to watch some of our zoo animals being fed or learn about them from our dedicated zookeepers.

Talks are suitable for children and everyone is welcome to attend.

Colouring in sheets

Pick up free colouring in sheets near the Green-tree Frogs exhibit, including the Red-winged Parrot, Spotted-tailed Quoll and Krefft's Turtle and then see if you can find the turtle and birds in the zoo!

Our colouring in sheets are printed on 100% recycled post-consumer waste and are carbon neutral.

Share your family's creations with us by emailing a photo of the finished colouring in to parksadministration@bundaberg.qld.gov.au along with your child's first name and age and check back on this webpage to view the artwork!
