Parks and Open Space Strategy
Overview
The Bundaberg Regional Council’s Parks and Open Space Strategy 2019 – 2026 is a key policy document for the planning, development and management of Council controlled parks and open spaces across the region. It is based on evidence, defined standards as well as valuable feedback from community.
Consultation to inform the strategy
The Bundaberg Regional Council is committed to engaging with community and stakeholders to ensure that our parks and open spaces are accessible, relevant to the community and of the highest quality.
Extensive consultation was undertaken from June to August 2018 with key stakeholders and the community to inform the development of the draft strategy. The community consultation processes and outcomes are detailed in the BRC Community Consultation Report – Parks & Open Space Strategy.
Following the endorsement of the draft strategy by Council in January 2019, the draft was made available for public comment. Community and stakeholders were encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions for consideration to inform the final strategy. Following this consultation period, amendments were made to the draft Strategy prior to finalisation.
