Where to stop and park in Bundaberg
The Bundaberg Region utilises a mix of regulated and non-regulated parking. Regulated parking is prominent in the Bundaberg CBD area and hospital precincts. An effective parking system is critical to traffic movements within the CBD where there are 1850 regulated parking bays and 1423 non-regulated parks or free parks. Regulated and timed parking ensures the regular turnover of parking spaces ensuring accessibility for local businesses and services.
Parking in Council’s regional communities (e.g. Childers and Gin Gin) is generally free except where specifically sign posted. Close to the Bundaberg CBD there are four dedicated parking bays suitable for large motorhomes or caravans located at the eastern end of the Riverside Parklands parking area off Quay Street adjacent to Walla Street.
Council has parking officers who patrol the regulated parking zones to ensure compliance with allowable times and identified uses of assigned parking areas, failure to comply may result in a parking infringement (fine) being issued.
To keep motorists and public transport passengers safe, road rules have been put in place to provide a safe transport environment for all users. To assist residents in finding a park in the Bundaberg CBD and identifying if any regulations apply to a particular parking space, an online map has been created which details the types of parking available and their location.
