Bin Inspection Program - Orange Tag

My bin had an orange tag, what should I do?

An orange tag means your bin was serviced, but there are some things to improve on to ensure your bin is serviced in the future.

If the tag was on your:

Recycling bin (yellow lid)

If the tag says:

It contained incorrect items - Remove any contamination (incorrect items) mentioned on your tag and place in the correct bin.

For more information on which items go in each bin, take a look at our waste and recycling handy guide.

Download a copy of our A - Z waste and recycling guide here.

Recycle Right Graphic

It was not presented correctly - For future services, ensure your bin is:

  • Placed at least 0.5 m away from other bins
  • At least 1 m away from other objects (trees, cars, letterboxes, etc.)
  • Weighs less than 75 kg (no building materials, etc.)
  • Is not overfilled and lid is closed

NB. Council will only service BRC provided bins

Share this information with your household and inspect the bin’s contents before the next service. Dispose of the tag in your general waste bin.

If you often run out of space in your recycle bin, households can opt in for a second bin at a discounted rate. Contact Council on 1300 883 699 for more information.
