Bed bugs
Bed bugs were once a common public health pest worldwide but declined in incidence through the mid-1900’s. Recently bed bugs have undergone a significant resurgence.
In Australia there has been an increase in the number of bed bug infestations of around 5000% since 1999. The Department of Entomology, ICPMR, has been at the forefront of documenting this phenomena and providing information on the ecology and control of this public health pest.
