The Bundaberg Region provides a wide range of community venues that are available for hire to the public, community and sporting groups, and businesses.   These venues are the responsibility of the Venues & Facilities Section, and some are managed by Council, and others by a Community Management Committee.   The Venues & Facilities Section has a Manager in Charge, supported by a Senior Administration Officer, a Facilities Officer, a Bookings Officer, an Administration Assistant, a Maintenance Officer, an Operations Supervisor and a contingent of cleaners.  

Members of the community can book venues located in the Region by contacting their relevant Service Centre, or venue booking contact, to ascertain if the venue is available and to arrange the booking. 

For venues managed by Council, an Application form and Conditions of Hire information must be obtained, and the completed Application form returned to the Service Centre no later than five (5) working days prior to the event, before confirmation can be given.   Hire fees must be paid on submission of the Application form.  

Once the booking is confirmed, hirers may then collect keys no earlier than three (3) working days prior to the event.  

Regular bookings can also be made for Council managed venues, where organisations will be invoiced at the end of each month for the hire of the venue.   An annual Application form must still be completed indicating the dates required and submitted to Council at the beginning of each year.   Any cancellation of bookings must be advised to Council in the month of the booking so that rental charges are not applied, otherwise the normal rental fee will apply as an administrative charge.   Arrangements for issue of keys for regular bookings are to be made through the relevant booking office.

The Casual Users Liability Insurance Cover Form is available here. 
Please note that cover is restricted to Hirers who can be described as non-commercial, non incorporated and irregular users of Council facilities.  No cover is provided to incorporated bodies, sporting clubs or associations of any kind.  Casual Hirers are further defined as third parties who hire Council facilities for no more than ten (10) days over a twelve (12) month period - based on a financial year.

The fees and charges listed at the link below are to be used as a guide only to gain an estimation of possible hire charges.  Actual costs are dependent upon the length of hire, facilities and equipment used, and the nature of the event. 

To obtain a more accurate hire cost, it is recommended hirers discuss their requirements with Council's Bookings Office staff located at the Civic Arcade Office, 157 Bourbong Street, Bundaberg, or by phoning 1300 883 699, and ask to speak to the Bookings Office.
