Council sponsored and operated Neighbourhood Centres are provided in
Childers and
Gin Gin, as well as a Community Development office in Bundaberg.
These services are jointly funded between Council and the Queensland Department of Communities.
The rural offices provide a genuine hub of service provision, information, referral and support services. This includes job network groups, visiting professional services, Centrelink office, counselling services and administrative assistance. The Centres provide rooms for hire by organisations. The Childers Centre also provides Emergency Relief for eligible people in need.
