Community Directories

NEW ONLINE COMMUNITY DIRECTORY LAUNCHED

Finding community groups and support agencies will now be even easier, with the launch of an online Community Directory, launched by Bundaberg Regional Council in conjunction with Bundaberg Community Development Inc (BCD).

Council’s Community and Arts Spokesperson, Cr Judy Peters, said the new website contained a wealth of information. "The new Online Directory lists the vast majority of community groups, support agencies and sport and recreation groups in the Bundaberg Region" said Cr Peters. "With two clicks, you can find out basic contact detailsof any organisation; within three clicks, you can find out even more up-to-date information about these organizations.".

"This new resource is critical at this time when many people in the Bundaberg Region are still coming to grips with the consequences of the flooding in December and January" said Cr Peters. "Residents can easily find out about services or groups that they can get involved in or perhaps help them in their recovery process simply by getting on a computer".

The online Community Directory also contains a number of topical newsletters, a Welcome Kit for new Residents and information on Learning Opportunities.

"A listing of learning opportunities is produced as a part of Bundaberg Region Learning Community Network and Bundaberg Regional Council" said Cr Peters. "This listing aims to promote learning opportunities across the region and links residents, families, workers, volunteers and students to lifelong learning, career development, education and training".

The user-friendly website was developed by Council’s Community Services and IT branches, along with Worldwide Online Printing. It can be found at: www.bundyregionconnect.qld.gov.au
