Becoming an Australian citizen is
one of the most important decisions for those who have chosen to make Australia their home.
Bundaberg
Regional Council is honoured to play a role in ensuring your
citizenship ceremony is a meaningful and special experience for you and
your friends and family.
Each
year Council conducts a number of citizenship ceremonies – the largest
being Australia Day (26 January) and Citizenship Day (17 September)
which are two very important dates in our calendar!
Council holds Citizenship Ceremonies most other months in the year.
All initial enquiries regarding Citizenship can be made to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship in Brisbane by phoning 131 881 or visiting the Department of Immigration and
Multicultural Affairs website.
Once citizenship has been approved
by the Department, a representative from Council will contact you to
arrange for you to take the Pledge of Commitment as the final step in
becoming an Australian citizen.
