Good things, it seems, do come in threes!
Bundaberg Regional Council Mayor, Cr. Mal Forman today welcomed news that Bundaberg housing figures for the quarter ending November last year showed a massive 47% leap against figures for the same three months in 2011.
The figures, released by the Housing Industry Association (HIA) showed that across Queensland there had been 7365 dwelling approvals for the September to November quarter in 2012 compared with 6205 for the same period in 2011.
“Bundaberg had 100 approvals during the quarter ending November last year compared to the 68 approvals for the same period in 2011,” said Cr. Forman.
“Bundaberg was well ahead of the Queensland statewide average of 19% and well ahead of many other areas of the state including Gold Coast and Brisbane on a percentage basis.”
Cr. Forman said the increased approvals in dwellings would reflect in a much improved outlook for the district’s building industry.
“This news comes on top of two recent surveys that placed Bundaberg in the nation’s top ten family friendly spots and also in a real estate top 50 “hot spots” as a region geared for positive capital growth.”
“This represents a very positive start to 2013 and I am certain some very exciting initiatives will be unveiled and some very positives announcements will be made as the year progresses,” said Cr. Forman.
