Bookings

  • Bookings are essential. You must book an Internet terminal to use, as terminals are available only by booking.

  • You may book in person or over the phone.

  • When booking you must provide both your first name and surname (family name).

  • As the booking system is computerised, you must use the computer for which you have booked. You are unable to use a different computer to the one that has been booked in your name.

  • If you come in without a booking, please check at the desk to see whether or not a computer is available; and to book in if a computer is available.

  • If you are late, you will not be able to make up any time missed. Bookings will not be guaranteed if you are more than 15 minutes late.

  • The terminals are to be used only by the person in whose name the booking is made. Time slots are not transferable to others.

  • In circumstances where booking errors occur, we will always allocate the computer to the person whose name is on the booking sheet.

  • If the Internet service ceases to work for whatever reason, or operates at a slower than normal speed, you will not be able to make up any time missed.

  • Acceptance of new bookings (by phone/in person) will close five minutes before the Library closes. You cannot make bookings after this time.

Checking In

  • Before you take a seat, you must check in at the desk. Staff will let you know which computer you have been booked on.

  • You must check in at the desk within 15 minutes of the start of your booking. (Eg. If your booking is for 10.00, you must check in no later than 10.15).

  • If you fail to check in your booking will automatically expire and your computer may be booked by someone else. This may result in you missing out on your booked time.

  • If the Internet service ceases to work for whatever reason, or operates at a slower than normal speed, you will not be able to make up any time missed.

  • You must be ready to finish your session on time so that the next person booked can begin their session promptly. For example, if your booking finishes at 11.00am, you must ensure that you are signed out/logged out and ready to go by 11.00am and no later.
