Your Membership Card

  • Your membership card is the key to borrowing from the Library's collection. One borrower card is issued to each member.
  • Please present your membership card each time you wish to borrow items. You are not able to borrow without presenting your card.
  • Please be aware, you are responsible for any items on your card. If you borrow items for someone else with your card, you are responsible for the return of the items, and any fees incurred.
  • Please notify staff immediately of any change of address or loss/theft of your card.
  • A fee of $2.20 (incl. GST) will be charged for a replacement card.

How to Borrow

  • When you have selected your items, present them at the counter where they will be loaned to you provided you present your valid membership card and your loans quota has not been reached.

  • A slip with the due date will be given to you. Should you be going on holidays and need extra loan time, please notify staff.

  • Renewals can be made for a further one week or three weeks by phoning the Library and quoting your Membership number, or by simply asking the counter staff (you must produce your borrower card). If an item is on reserve for another borrower, a renewal cannot be granted. A limit of 3 renewals per item can be made.

  • Reservations may be made on items that are on loan to another borrower. When the item becomes available you will receive a notice requesting its collection as soon as possible. Please see staff at the front counter if you wish to reserve an item. A maximum of 5 reserves per card is permitted.

Returning Library Items

  • When you return your items, present them at the counter. It is important that you wait while staff cancel your loans.

  • After-hours chutes are located near the Library entrance for returning items when the Library is closed.

  • Overdue fines apply to items not returned by their due date.

  • Persons who fail to return overdue Library items will have their borrowing privileges withdrawn and may face legal action to recover costs.

  • Lost or damaged items must be paid for before further items may be borrowed. Please do not attempt to repair damaged items, as this is a job for experts.

  • A replacement fee of $2.20 (incl. GST) will be charged for each loaned item returned without a barcode.
