| The Feb / Mar monthly activity was a "My AWESOME Experience..." essay review. |
| AWESOME members were asked to do a 50-100 word review of their experience with the AWESOME program. They were asked to elaborate on whether they enjoyed the reading, enjoyed the monthly competitions, liked the prizes on offer, read books they wouldn't normally have read, and liked the idea of travelling the world via reading. |
| Winner: Holly S., age 4. My first AWESOME experience was enjoyable. At night, I like my Mum and Dad reading me different stories. Then, I enjoy re-reading these books and looking at the pictures in bed (until I get sleepy). My favourite continent was Africa, because I love animals. The prizes I have got have been fantastic. I hope I can try this program when I'm in Grade One. |
| Runner-Up: Mitchell T., age 7. I have loved AWESOME because I have loved to learn a lot about other countries and their cultures. It has helped me become an even better reader and enjoy reading a lot more. At Kalkie Mrs Hall and Mrs Cassie have helped me find books for each continent. Our new Kalkie Library is great. I have also had help from Sue at the town Library. It has been fun doing competitions and prizes as you keep reading. With Mum and Dad we have had fun talking about each country too. It has been a lot of fun to do. |
