Position:  Environmental Technical Officer

Location: Bargara

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

Level: 5

Remuneration: Salary $61,844, Three-weekly RDO's and 12% Superannuation.

Industrial Instruments: Bundaberg Regional Council Employees Enterprise Bargaining Certified Agreement 2008; Queensland Local Government Officers' Award 1998.

The Position:
The focus of this position is to provide water and wastewater environmental technical support.  The position requires a sound understanding of technical and legislative requirements, particularly environmental compliance, along with an understanding of Council policy and relevant Australian standards.

Selection Criteria:

1. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the technical and environmental aspects of water and wastewater;
2. Demonstrated ability to prepare operational policies for use by Council staff (regulatory and operational) and the community;
3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and guidelines relating to water and wastewater;
4. Diploma or Degree level qualifications in Environmental related field would be viewed favourably;
5. Current Class ‘C’ Drivers licence;
6. Demonstrated high level communication skills, both written and oral;
7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a small group is essential.
